The American Museum of Tort Law announces the retirement of its executive director, Richard L. Newman. Mr. Newman, who has been the executive director since the Museum opened in 2015 is an attorney, co-author of the treatise Tort Remedies in Connecticut, and a past-President of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
He was responsible for the creation of the online, virtual tour of the Museum, and for the video series of interviews with legal scholars and leaders in law.
Ralph Nader, President of the Tort Museum, praised Rick Newman’s direction of the Museum as “an excellent educational institution” in the words of the visiting Justice Stephen Breyer. Like the thousands of people and their children from all over the world who have toured this unique Museum, and the many more who have visited its website, Justice Breyer was imressed by its informative graphic exhibits and its message of safety and justice. We’re confident Rick will continue to champion an ever more responsive civil justice system.
